Commemorative discount offer on the new San Diego - Tokyo Narita route. Image from Japan Airlines |
I have just received an e-mail from Japan Airlines (JAL) about the commemorative discount offer on the new San Diego - Tokyo Narita route which is scheduled to launch on December 2 2012. For a limited time, American region JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members who purchased their economy class tickets that has JL065 and JL066 as part of their eligible itinerary to Japan and Asia will receive 10% off the base fares.
The discount only applies to new bookings made on JAL American Region website. The departure dates must be between December 2 2012 and February 28 2013, and tickets must be purchased by November 30 2012.
However, this only applies to economy class tickets departing from San Diego to Japan or Asia that does NOT include a stopover. This means if you are flying to somewhere in Asia, e.g. Bangkok, you cannot stay in Japan for more than 24 hours with this discount. If you are only flying JL065 and JL066 in either your outbound or inbound itinerary but not both, the 10% discount will only apply to the portion that involves the San Diego flight.
Given how tickets are usually more expensive on JAL website and waitlisting for lower booking class isn't possible, I would say you probably will be better off buying it from a travel agency. But of course, booking via JAL website means you don't need to pay extra penalty to the travel agency if you want to make changes to your ticket before your first flight.
And interestingly GMail has marked that as a spam e-mail because a lot of people have flagged that as a spam :o But the contents look legitimate to me :P So try this at your own risk LOL For more details and to take advantage of this sale, you can refer to JAL website.
