Japan Airlines (JAL) and British Airways (BA) have reached an agreement to finally expand their existing codesharing agreement to cover the flights between Tokyo and London. Starting from October 1 2012, JAL and BA will be placing their codes on each other's flights and offer joint fares between the two cities. This probably brings them one step closer to their intended joint business venture.
Codeshare
Currently JAL and BA have codesharing agreement to cover 23 routes between London and other European cities and 8 routes between Tokyo Narita (NRT) to cover 7 domestic and international destinations. With the latest agreement, 19 weekly flights between Tokyo and London will be added. Below are the codeshare flights schedule

Joint Fares
Other than expanding the codesharing agreement, JAL and BA will also start to offer aligned fares between Tokyo and London to travel on or after October 1 2012. Which means customers can pick JAL operated flight one way and BA the other. Before this, customers usually required to purchase two separate one-way tickets which are usually quite expensive. This joint fares will go on sale on September 5 2012.
Special Campaign Fares from Japan to Europe
To celebrate the expanded partnership between JAL and BA, JAL and BA will be offering limited time special promotional fares from Japan to Europe for travel commencing between November 1 2012 and February 28 2013. Tickets must be purchased between September 5 and September 30 2012.
