JAL AIR Yoshinoya (Source: JAL Press Release) |
Earlier in spring, Japan Airlines (JAL) introduced the AIR Yoshinoya on select long-haul routes departing from Japan. It was so popular that JAL expanded this to the long-haul flights departing from Tokyo Haneda which usually are not part of the promotion. A lot of customers have expressed that they miss the Air Yoshinoya since the offer ended in May and said they want to enjoy AIR Yoshinoya when they fly back to Japan as well. That's why JAL has decided to bring back the popular dish once again this fall.
However, instead of offering AIR Yoshinoya on the usual select long-haul routes, JAL will only offer this on JL061, flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo Narita (NRT). This will be available in all 4 classes - on the First and Executive class a la carte menu, and as the second meal before arrival in Premium Economy and Economy classes. So the lucky passengers flying to LAX can enjoy the new AIR Taimeiken on their way to LAX and Air Yoshinoya on their way to NRT! Not sure why JAL does not offer this on other routes but I am not complaining :P (Please keep offering the special AIR series on ex-LAX flight when I travel in Dec :D)
The contents of the meal stays the same. You will get the same beef bowl with special packaging that allows you to enjoy it in multiple ways, chinese pickled cabbage, red ginger, shichimi and almond tofu as dessert.
