About a year ago, more than 15,000 people were killed by a series of disasters triggered by the Tohoku earthquake. Japan Airlines (JAL) has participated and organized many events and campaigns to rebuild the Tohoku region, which includes operating 2,700 special flights to the region in the 5 months after the earthquake. March 11 2012 marks the first anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake, and JAL will operate a special "Tohoku Reconstruction Charter Flight" from Hong Kong (HKG) to Sendai (SDJ).
The flight will depart from Hong Kong after midnight on March 11 and arrive Sendai at around 8am. Special receptions will be held at the airport to welcome the tourists. Below is the details of the schedule

JAL plans to use a Boeing 767-300 to operate this charter flight but this is subject to change. Officials will attend the ceremonies and Ms Daisy Lui from Hong Kong Tourist Association will visit the local officials in Tokohu region and tourists from Hong Kong will visit some famous tourist attractions in the region too.
