Japan Airlines (JAL) has just announced their plan to launch Tokyo Narita - Boston route with their brand new 787-8 on April 22 2012. This makes NRT-BOS be the first destination announced by JAL to use the state of art 787 planes. Also JAL will be the only carrier that offers direct flight between Asia and Boston!
Originally JAL will offer 4 weekly flights. On June 1 2012, JAL will start offering daily service to Boston. Of course as their JBV partner, American Airlines (AA) will be codesharing on this route. Reservation and ticket sales will be available through JAL from May 28 2011 at 10am JST (May 27 9PM EST). AA will start selling tickets from the middle of June this year. Below is the schedule:
JL008/AA5922 NRT 11:30 - BOS 11:20 787-8 Daily*
JL007/AA5921 BOS 13:20 - NRT 16:00+1 787-8 Daily*
*Operating 4 times a week on Mo, We, Fr, Su until May 31, 2012 and subject to government approval.
Below will be the new JAL and AA Japan-North American network map after the BOS flight.

Seat maps showing 3-row J 2x2x2, and a 9-row Y so something wrong there.
When you book this far ahead, only full fares are available unfortunately. JAL website still shows 2-3-2 config which I mentioned on another post that this could possibly a temporary placeholder as the configuration is the same as one of the 763's
