Japan Airlines (JAL) has selected to install TIMCO Aerosystems Featherweight Galley on its new 767-300ER's aircraft. Yes, thanks to 787's delay, JAL still has unfilled orders of 763's, a total of 9 of them as of March 31 2010. JAL will be the FIRST customer to install this new galley from TIMCO.
Rick Salanitri, President of TIMCO Aerosystems, observed, “We are especially proud to have our innovative Featherweight™ galley selected by a leading global operator like Japan Airlines. Our team has been working hard to perfect the design and savings potential on this product, and we are excited that JAL will be able to be the first to experience the value.” (AMT online)
The delivery of these new galley will start in 2011...um...after 787's deliveries...I kind of wish JAL can get more 787 earlier. No matter how light these galley is, you can't beat 787's fuel savings...Oh well every yen counts now :P
