Japan Airlines has issued a press release regarding the traffic results of the 2010 New Year vacation period. There is a 8.9% improvement on international flight loads but a 2.1% decrease on the domestic one.
Compare the result to the forecasts, all of the international routes except the Transpacific and China ones see a better than expected result. Even there is 11.8% decrease in total international passengers, the load factor still improves 8.9% to 83.6% thanks to a 21.1% capacity reduction on international routes.
So if JAL can see this kind of flight load, do you really think dropping the entire international network is such a good idea?
