Opodo travel news from the UK has reported Japan Airlines has offered its congratulations to Boeing and is keening waiting for the first delivery of 787. In the article, it also mentions JAL will be using the 787 on new long haul services.
It is currently making preparations to introduce the Dreamliner into its fleet, with the first plane set to be delivered by early 2011. The 787 will be used to operate new long-haul services linking Tokyo to America, Europe and south-east Asia.
Maybe JAL will use the new 787 on the US-Haneda flights! If that's the case, I would definitely try to fly on LAX-HND instead :) Few years ago, JAL planned to use the first 787 on Moscow flights. Not sure if that has changed or not. I guess we will find out in about a year when Boeing delivers JAL's first 787 in early 2011.
For those who have missed the 787 first flight, you can view the webcast here. JAL also has a special page for 787 in Japanese (It has been there for a while...)
