JAL giving away 40 FREE business class upgrades

Japan Airlines Australia is having a Double-Hit Big Campaign to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Australia route right now. Not only you can purchase a roundtrip Economy class ticket between Australia and Japan for only AUD800 (tax excluded), you can also be one of the lucky passengers who get a free upgrade.

To qualify for the campaign, you have to purchase the AUD800 fare AND register at JAL Australia website to enter a lucky draw. On September 29 2009, JAL will hold a drawing at its office and 40 lucky passengers will get a one-way upgrade for his/her flight. JAL will determine which sector to upgrade based on flight load. I wish they had done the same for Los Angeles 50th anniversary. All we get is 50% bonus miles. But you can argue that at least everyone can benefit from the bonus mile campaign and not 50 lucky winners :P
