JO 073 (a JALways flight) departing from Honolulu to Narita on July 30 2009 will be the final 747-300 international passenger flight. JALPAK (the travel agency) has organized a special 2 nights 4 days package for this final flight. The package starts at 74700 yen (kids price).

The package starts with an orientation at Haneda and a visit to the airport hanger. You will have a chance to wear the JAL mechanic uniform and take pictures with the airplanes. Then you will fly to Honolulu and stay at one of the three hotels available (different prices for different hotels). And as a JALPAK customer, you can have unlimited access to the Hawaii rainbow trolley.

On July 30, you will fly on the FINAL international passenger 737-300 flight back to Narita. There will be a special in-flight announcement/farewell message by the captain. Each passenger will be given a certificate and souvenir for this final flight. There are only 30 quota for this special package!

747-300 is the last "three-men crew" aircraft left in JAL fleet. A flight mechanic, i.e. the third cockpit crew member, is required in order to fly this plane. Modern airplanes, e.g. 747-400, requires only pilot and co-pilot. Also, 747-300 has been painted on all three JAL liveries (probably the only aircraft type that has archived this), so you can probably tell how long this model has been around. JAL has set up a special farewell page for 747-300, you can find details of this package and some history of the model there.
